Keynote: Sebastian Junger
Savannah Book Festival Headliner Addresses are ticketed events in the Lucas Theater in Downtown Savannah, highlighting three nationally recognized authors from across the country. Headliners will give a 45-minute presentation on their creative process and life as writers, followed by a Q&A and book signing. The 2025 Festival lineup consists of Anna Quindlen for the Opening Address, Sebastian Junger for the Keynote Address, and Ben Mezrich for the Closing Address.
Sebastian Junger is the New York Times bestselling author of Tribe, War, Freedom, A Death in Belmont, Fire, and The Perfect Storm, and co-director of the documentary film Restrepo, which was nominated for an Academy Award. He is also the winner of a Peabody Award and the National Magazine Award for Reporting. He will be presenting his newest book In My Time of Dying, the story of his near-death experience. Part medical drama, part searing autobiography, and part rational inquiry into the ultimate unknowable mystery.
