Heroes & Villains Summer: Rocky

Thursday July 27 at 7:00 PM

A hero for the everyman, Rocky Balboa is a struggling working stiff who gets an unexpected shot at the heavyweight title and its brash holder Apollo Creed. Made in less than a month on shoestring budget, Rocky was a surprise winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture and made Sylvester Stallone into a household name, launching a franchise that now spans nine films. No one is immune to the film's iconic, blood-pumping score, which still inspires viewers to climb stairs and pump their fists in the air.

Revisit some of cinema’s most iconic heroes and villains on the big screen this summer at the Lucas. Each screening will feature themed surprises like photo booths, concession specials, pre-show trivia, and more, along with the chance to hear the Lucas’ recently restored 1925 Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ roar! Plan to arrive early to hear its pre-show performance.

Tickets for the film, part of the Heroes & Villains Summer series, are $5 for SCAD Card holders, students, seniors, and military; and $8 for the general public
